President | TXOGA

Todd Stapes currently serves as president for TXOGA. Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) is a statewide trade association with approximately 5,000 members representing every facet of the Texas oil and gas industry including small independents and major producers. Collectively, TXOGA members account for over 90 percent of all oil and natural gas produced in Texas, they operate a vast majority of the State’s pipeline mileage and gas processing capacity, and they are responsible for a preponderance of the State’s refining capacity.

Todd Staples was the 11th Texas Commissioner of Agriculture. Former Commissioner Staples believed that free enterprise system and individual responsibility are the keys to prosperity for Texas. From his earliest days of public service as a member of the Palestine city council through his tenures in the Texas House of Representatives and later the Texas Senate, Commissioner Staples has championed such critical issues as protection of private property owners’ rights, workers’ compensation reform, school finance reform and improving the education of Texas’ leaders of tomorrow, just to name a few.

Mr. Staples was born in Anderson County where he was active in high school FFA and was elected state FFA vice president. He attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with honors with a degree in agricultural economics.
